A Long Service medal presentation for the Greenethorpe Rural Fire Brigade was held on Saturday 25th May 2013 by the Mid Lachlan Valley Team of the NSW Rural Fire Service.

Assistant Commissioner Bruce McDonald, NSW Rural Fire Service Head Office and Superintendent Ken Neville, Team Manager, Mid Lachlan Valley Team, were in attendance to present the awards. Also in attendance were Mayor Mark Leibich and General Manager Trevor Lobb.

Rural Fire Service honours Greenethorpe RFS members 

Both Assistant Commissioner Bruce McDonald and Mayor Mark Leibich expressed their thanks to all recipients for their dedication and hard work over the years and added that the community should be proud of all medal recipients.

Weddin Shire Council General Manager Trevor Lobb gave an interesting talk on the changes that have happened over the years with the Fire Service and how we had progressed with the replacement of the fleet in the Weddin Shire.

Assistant Commissioner Bruce McDonald and Mayor Mark Leibich then presented thirty three members of the Greenethorpe Rural Fire Brigade with Long Service Medals, totalling 1818 years of service to the Greenethorpe community.  

Long Service medals were presented to: June Brien (41 years), Judy Bryant (41 years), Bruce Batkin (44 years), Colin Chapple (45 years), Garry Baker (46 years), Ray Chew (48 years), Kevin Bryant (49 years), Roger Dawe (49 years),Noel (Tommy) Rowland (50 years), Mark Minehan (51 years), Ian Donges (51 years), Maurice Batkin (51 years), Kevin Douglass (52 years), Bob Taylor Snr (53 years), Ian Hunter (53 years), Margaret Stonestreet (54 years), Ken Stonestreet (54 years), Kevin Hazel (56 years), John (Jack) Chapple (57 years), Neville Brien (57 years), Graham Fisher (57 years),Stafford Moore (58 years), David Cooper (59 years), Barry Holland (59 years), Brian Walker (61 years), Desmond McKellar (61 years), George Bishop (62 years), Bruce Walker (62 years), Clive Martin (65 years), Ken Watt (67 years), John Guymer (68 years), Cedric Watt (68 years) and Ivor Wills (69 years).

After the presentation a BBQ was enjoyed by medal recipients, family and Guests.
