Tools for Assessment

The NSW Rural Fire Service has developed some assessment tools to assist in determining the required protection measures for a development application on bush fire prone land. To determine which assessment tool should be used for your proposed development follow the flow chart below.

The site assessment methodology outlined in Planning for Bush Fire Protection 2006 will also assist you in determining the required asset protection zones (APZ) and construction standards for a development on bush fire prone land.
