Development Control Plans

Development control plans (DCP), prepared by councils in accordance with the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979, are used to help achieve the objectives of the local plan by providing specific, comprehensive requirements for certain types of development or locations e.g. for urban design, and heritage precincts and properties. Councils are encouraged to consult the NSW Rural Fire Service and Planning for Bush Fire Protection 2006 when preparing a DCP.
