CSIRO and NSW RFS Grass Fire Experiments

:43mins
Published on Dec 10, 2015 The NSW RFS has been working with the CSIRO and Victorian Country Fire Service in Braidwood over the past week to conduct experimental burns in grassland areas. The experiments are looking at how fire reacts in grassland in different weather conditions and in different types of dry, or cured, grass. The outcomes of the experiments will help to clarify the impact that grass curing levels have on fire danger ratings and will also help in planning for hazard reductions.
