Join our RFS Mitigation Crews

If you love working outdoors, have knowledge to share about country, and want to give back to our community, this could be a job for you.

Our Mitigation Crews assist at-risk community members through our AIDER program, assist with hazard reduction activities, cultural burns and firefighting support. And you'll have the opportunity to support front line operational work.

By joining our Mitigation Crews you'll get skills for life, with paid training, ongoing development opportunities, and an attractive salary.

And importantly, you'll be helping to keep our community and country safe from fire.

Here's how to apply.

STEP 1 Check the candidate information guide. It tells you all about the role, locations and the qualifications you need.
STEP 2 Prepare your application. You'll need a resume of up to four pages that outlines your experience, job history and skills. You'll also need two professional referees and a copy of any qualifications required for the role.
STEP 3 Once recruitment commences for these roles, apply through I Work For NSW website.

Mitigation Recruitment Information Sessions

Our Mitigation Recruitment Information Sessions are designed to provide you with all the information you require regarding the Mitigation Crew roles and the recruitment process. You will also receive information regarding the physical testing component of the recruitment process and how to prepare.

Please bring your resume and driver licence and one of our friendly staff will help you to apply during the information session. If you do not have a resume, we can assist you to create one.
