A role in our Mitigation crews is a great entry level opportunity where you will be able to learn new skills and obtain qualifications to kick start your career in the NSW RFS. It also provides a career path to our Operational Officer Program.
As a member of our Mitigation crews, no two days of work will be the same. You’ll have the opportunity to work on a range of exciting and rewarding activities including hazard reduction work, AIDER program activities, working closely with internal and external stakeholders and undertaking operational and logistical support roles at incidents. We are looking for motivated and community minded individuals who have a passion for emergency services and want to make a difference.
The following skills and experience would be advantageous to applicants, but are not essential:
Area Mitigation is a statewide program with a range of opportunities to work in a variety of locations and settings.
We have seven Area Commands which host numerous Mitigation hubs: Greater Sydney, Hunter, North Eastern, North Western, Western, South Eastern and South Western.
