About 7.45am on Wednesday, emergency services were called to a home on Long Street, Trundle, after reports of a fire.
After the blaze was extinguished by the NSW Rural Fire Service, the body of a man was located inside.
Officers from the Central West Police District established a crime scene and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the fire, including whether or not it is suspicious.
