Summary
Crews from Forbes Central, Tichborne and Parkes Headquarters brigades assisted FRNSW, NSW Police and NSW Ambulance in searching for the reported downed Aircraft.
11/9, 1638hrs- Pumper 417, Officers from Central West Police District and Traffic and Highway Patrol Command - NSW Police Force, NSW Ambulance Paramedics and NSW RFS- Parkes Headquarters Brigade firefighters were called to an Aircraft Incident 5km South of Parkes.
The multi-agency operation covered over 15 kilometres of the Newell Highway searching for the aircraft. Our crews located a fire burning in the distance and investigated.
Thankfully it was a small pile burn pictured below.
A short time later, Police were notified that the pilot and his aircraft were both accounted for and the search was called off.
