Tichborne on the Newell Highway Fire

Summary
RFS firefighters from Parkes and Forbes, as well as Parkes Fire and Rescue NSW firefighters were quick to act and extinguished a grass fire on the “mad mile” at Tichborne on the Newell Highway.
The fire started on the edge of the highway with seven fire trucks also contending with the strong winds. Firefighters managed to stop it from going into a wheat paddock. In terrible weather conditions such as today, we are all very thankful for the quick response from the local RFS teams and Fire and Rescue.
