Support the NSW RFS at Bunnings this Australia Day weekend

To celebrate Australia Day, Bunnings stores are hosting an Aussie Day Weekend Fundraiser BBQ.

On Saturday 28 January, the NSW Rural Fire Service and the NSW State Emergency Service are teaming up for the Bunnings Aussie Day Weekend Fundraiser BBQ.

This is your chance to say 'thank you' to the volunteers who help keep your community safe.

NSW Rural Fire Service Commissioner Shane Fitzsimmons, said he is pleased that Bunnings is once again offering their support to emergency services through this great initiative.

“Our 74,000 members are working every day to help protect the community from bush fires, and this Australia Day will be no different. I’d like to thank Bunnings and their customers for supporting our volunteers in their important work.

As summer continues, I urge everyone to be prepared for fires. It is not only important for everyone who lives in a bush fire prone area to prepare their home, but also to have a discussion with their family about what you would all do if a bush fire took hold in your area.”

When you buy a sausage sandwich at your participating Bunnings store, proceeds from the Aussie BBQ will be donated to local volunteers to support services in your area.

The BBQs will be run by Bunnings volunteer team members, as well as their family and friends. The NSW RFS gratefully acknowledges the kind support of Bunnings.
