National Volunteer Week

Summary

This week is National Volunteer Week, an opportunity for us to thank our volunteers for the contribution they make to the NSW RFS, and to their communities.

The theme this year is “Changing communities. Changing lives.” Last fire season, our volunteers proved once again why they are held in such high esteem in their communities, in our state and around the world.

Without their dedication the devastation and losses across the past fire season could have been far greater.

We have more than 70,000 volunteers across the state, and they aren’t just working hard during the fire season. Every day NSW RFS volunteers are responding to a range of incidents, or helping their community to be more resilient and safer from the threat of disasters.

So this National Volunteer Week, please join me in thanking each of our volunteers for their commitment and dedication to their communities, and the positive impact they have on so many lives.

Regards,
Rob Rogers AFSM
