Wear it Yellow to support NSW RFS members

Summary

School students and community groups are encouraged to wear yellow in support of NSW RFS members on ‘Wear It Yellow’ Day on Friday 15 September.

Wear it Yellow Day

Since 2020, school students and community groups have been invited to wear yellow in support of NSW RFS members on ‘Wear It Yellow’ Day during September.

The Wear It Yellow initiative was developed by local community members in the Wollondilly area, following the devastating 2019/20 bush fire season.

On Friday 15 September, schools and other community groups will be invited to wear yellow for the day.

Schools and community groups will be encouraged to:

  • Contact their local brigades to visit their workplace or school
  • Organise a fundraiser
  • Wear yellow to work and donate
  • Have a yellow cake stall
  • Find out about getting bush fire ready
  • Get the kids drawing and painting, writing thank you notes and dropping these off to their local NSW RFS brigade with a cake for their morning tea

For more information on how to donate or where to direct donations, check out the Donations page of the website.
