Maimuru Rural Fire Brigade has been officially re-opened at a ceremony held to mark the completion of a $234,000 upgrade and celebrate the service of NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS) volunteers.

In a first for NSW, the Rural Fire Service (RFS) has commenced training for night-time firefighting operations using a Coulson Chinook helicopter.

The NSW Government is investing $8.9 million in the Clarence Region, with a co-located Emergency Operations Centres (EOC) and Fire Control Centres (FCC) to be built in Grafton and a new Category 1 Fire Tanker going to the Lawrence RFS Brigade.
