Blue Mountains Bushfire Danger Period Concludes on April 1st 2021

Summary

Come Thursday 1st April, permits will no longer be required within the Rural Fire Districts of the Blue Mountains LGA.

For those within F+RNSW District, you will need to contact F+RNSW to discus whether a permit is required.  Notifications to the NSW RFS can be lodged online at: https://www.rfs.nsw.gov.au/fire-information/BFDP/burn-notifications

Burning in the Blue Mountains LGA is managed under the Clean Airs Regulations.  You will still need an environmental approval to Light and Maintain an Open Fire.  Contact Blue Mountains City Council or visit their website here to learn more - https://www.bmcc.nsw.gov.au/permits/open-burning

If you are having trouble lodging your notification online, contact the District Office for further information.  Additional information on safely using fire is also available on the NSW RFS website: https://www.rfs.nsw.gov.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0013/12451/Before-you-light-that-fire-2020.pdf?fbclid=IwAR0gYaQFZ3My5krDnwHCnVytw2LvwKLKFT4wW0ZGXu80XXa5L4KqIGQ2aKM
