Moorbel RFS finds new home - ABC News

Summary

A Cabonne Shire Rural Fire brigade has been provided with a temporary premises and tanker after its station and trucks were destroyed by fire.

A fire at the Moorbel fire brigade last week damaged gutted the shed and two fire tankers.

RFS Superintendent, Arthur Sharpe, says the brigade will share a facility with the SES in Canowindra for the next three months.

He says a spare tanker from an Illawarra brigade will arrive next week.

"One tanker we have covered with a spare one we have here for break down purposes and so forth and we've had offers from three or four other districts across the state to offer us a spare tanker and we've accepted one of those category one tankers and it will be here early next week."

"It makes our service in Canowindra still fully operational, 100% operational, with equipment and tankers and manpower," he said.

"The structure is accessible by our volunteers to get the vehicles out and in the meantime the process of looking at the old site and where we progress from there will be carried out and hopefully in six or eight months we'll know what's happening."

Police are investigating arson attack.
