Canobolas Zone migrates to "Centralised Dispatch"

Summary

Probably the biggest change operationally since Zoning in 2001 will be introduced during the middle part of next week when Canobolas becomes the 9th District to join Centralised Dispatch.

On Friday, Canobolas Operations Officer Brett Bowden travelled to State Operations to gain an overview of our readiness to go live on October 5. Whilst there is some minor work still to do, our radio and paging links were tested and our response protocols were reviewed to assist with a smooth transition.

The change to centralised dispatch will have an immediate impact on the speed of the receipt of emergency calls and the activation of Brigade resources through efficient use of state of the art equipment. This will be the biggest change since the introduction of pagers during the early 1990's.

Brigades wanting more information can contact the FCC, however, we are planning a session at our upcoming pre season briefings.
