Clifton Grove Hazard Reduction 19-5-2018

Summary

The NSWRFS will be commencing our Autumn hazard reduction burning activities during May with one event in the vicinity of your property. These hazard reductions will target the reduction of fine fire fuels to provide future protection to local properties during the summer months of the years ahead.

The area involved:

Deervale Lane/Lakes Ave – Clifton Grove

The NSW Rural Fire Service is aiming to complete a low intensity burn continuing the Ophir area mosaic fuel reduction campaign. The perimeter preparation has been completed and burning is planned using ground based ignition during the weekend 19 & 20 May 2018.

The burn will generate smoke potentially over several days, and whilst we will aim to ensure favourable winds to achieve the best smoke management outcomes, you may wish to consider the following:

* Keep doors and windows closed to prevent smoke entering               homes
* Remove washing from clotheslines

Should any further information be required, please contact the Canobolas Zone Fire Control Centre on 6363 6666 between 9am and 4.30pm weekdays. You can also obtain additional information on prescribed burning and property preparedness by accessing our website at www.canobolas.rfs.nsw.gov.au.

We appreciate your cooperation in managing fire fuel loads in preparation of future summer weather.
