Kinross area Hazard Reduction

Summary

Whilst the Fire Season of 2019/20 still fresh in our minds the upcoming fire season draws closer and whilst locally we escaped the damaging campaign fires suffered by many Districts across the State we, more than ever, need to continue our locally developed culture of reducing the fire risk through selective low intensity hazard reduction burning.

The first burn will be carried out Tuesday 21 April and is called Kinross East it will burn West of Emu Swamp Creek and East of Strathnook Lane area North of Kinross Forest.

The weather conditions are forecast to be mild with a gentle westerly influence that will see the smoke progress east across the Lewis Ponds, Gowan & Freemantle areas for much of the day.
