Ride-on lawn mower starts grass fire

Over 30 hay bales and five hectares have been burnt on a property on The Escort Way, after a lawn mower sparked a grass fire on Saturday afternoon.

Trucks from three Rural Fire Service brigades were called to the property, halfway between Orange and Borenore, around 1.30pm.
While no buildings are under threat and the fire has been contained, hay bales are still burning.
Crews from Borenore, North West Orange and Nashdale brigades will remain on scene until the flames have been extinguished.
