There are 50/60 trees alight. These trees caused embers to drop into unburnt country causing the fire to take hold and run with approximately 5 hectares burnt. The fire has now been contained.

6 Tankers with 16 personnel worked to contain the fires. An excavator has been engaged to remove tree hazards along the road with Cabonne Council closing the road.

Crews will be onsite for most of the day working to black out the fire and remove potential fire flareups from the downed trees.

We’ve now got perfect conditions for fires to run. It’s a dangerous time for everyone that lives in a rural area so everyone needs to be careful.

Report all unattended fires to Triple 000.
