There is a bush fire burning in the Goulburn River National Park in the Merriwa River valley area.

The fire is currently more than 7,139 hectares in size and is being controlled.

The alert level for this fire has been downgraded to Advice as conditions on the fireground ease.

A bush fire is burning south of Booral Road and on both sides of the Pacific Highway. The fire is over 2685 hectares and is not yet controlled.

Smoke is drifting across the Lower Hunter, Central Coast and south to Sydney, similar to conditions yesterday (Thursday 4 December).
