Albert Training

Summary

On Wednesday the little village of Albert (about 20km from Tottenham) was invaded by the NSW Rural Fire Service from across the area for a local brigade exercise.

There were almost 80 members from across 10 brigades in attendance for a training / knowledge gathering day.

This was also supported and attended by local NSW Ambulance Officers, NSW Police Officers and Local Land Services.

The day involved exercises including: Header Fires, MVA, AED & First Aid, House Fires, Rural Crime, Livestock Incidents. Through out the day it was also integrated with Radio Communications.

The day was a huge success with members taking a lot away from it. It also gave the members a chance to take their minds off the current drought for a little while.

District Officer Cameron Bird would like to thank all the people involved in setting up and running the day, and to all the volunteers that gave up their time to attend, also to the RFSA for sponsoring this event and for Lachlan Shire Council for their full support.

Also, a thanks to The Rabbit Trap Hotel, Albert for their work that went into feeding the crews during the day and accommodating some of the crews that had to stay overnight.
