EMERGENCY services crews were called to a fire in Telegraph Road on Saturday night.
The driver parked the vehicle in long grass on the side of the road which resulted in the grass catching fire due to the heat from the engine.According to police reports, at approximately 10pm that night, a 21-year-old-male from Canberra arrived at a residence on Telegraph Road, Young to attend a party.
The fire was quickly extinguished by the party goers, however ignited again after a small explosion from the vehicle.
Young and Boara RFS attended and extinguished the second fire.
Approximately 150 square metres of grassland was burnt and the vehicle was totally destroyed
