National Volunteer Week - 9-15 May 2016

Summary

As one of Australia’s leading volunteer organisations, National Volunteer Week is an important time to recognise and thank our volunteers for the contribution they make.

Throughout National Volunteer Week the NSW RFS is celebrating our dedicated volunteers, who come from all walks of life. Our members selflessly dedicate their time to helping the local community and we are grateful for their generosity and hard work.

While volunteer members don’t offer their time for praise or reward, formal recognition programs are a great way to show our respect and appreciation for the dedication and bravery that our volunteer members demonstrate every day.

The NSW Volunteer of the Year Awards is an annual program to recognise the outstanding efforts of volunteers in NSW, and to promote the importance of volunteering to our community. The Premier's Volunteer Recognition Program celebrates volunteering and acknowledges the desire to take part in community life across all ages. Members of the public are encouraged to submit nominations to recognise the hard-working volunteers in your community.
