Commissioner Rogers has been acting in the role following the departure of Shane Fitzsimmons in May.

Following a competitive recruitment process, Rob has been appointed to the role to see the Service through the next season and beyond.

“I’m excited by the opportunity but also very mindful of the challenges ahead, especially after last season’s terrible conditions.

“I look forward to continuing on the path we have set over the past few months like our priorities which focus on our volunteers and community – the things that matter most like improving the way we respond to incidents, and the trucks and equipment that our members use.

“The NSW RFS is an organisation that has been a part of my life for a very long time and I’m looking forward to continuing to build it and support its members into the future”.
