Stuff Your Chopper Challenge
Published Date: 08 Dec 2016
Summary
In December 2016, NSW Police set a challenge for emergency services to 'Stuff Your Chopper'.
The challenge was simple - fill a helicopter with food which would help those in need at Christmas, through Foodbank NSW / ACT.
NSW Police collected more than 700 kilograms of food.
Once t he challenge was set, we knew our volunteers and staff could do better.
Many brigades and District offices across NSW took part in the challenge, donating non-perishable items.
Some brigade members, through work connections, helped secure big donations like pallets of food and other items from Arnotts and Kimberley Clark among others.

All up, the NSW RFS collected nearly 13 tonnes of food for Foodbank. That's enough to stuff around 18 helicopters - or a big semi-trailer.
The NSW RFS thanks all those who donated to the challenge.
Donations are no longer being accepted by NSW RFS. If you would like to donate to Foodbank, visit their website.
