2013 Youth Week - Cadet Program.

The NSW RFS runs a cadet program

The Secondary Schools Cadet program builds skills and provides valuable life experience in areas like teamwork and leadership, in a fun and safe environment.

Since its inception in 2005, over 4,700 students have completed the program, which has been run more than 300 times.

2013 Youth Week - Youth Leadership Team

The NSW RFS has its own Youth leadership team

The NSW RFS Young Members group is a forum consulting with our young members, to help develop strategies for attraction and retention of volunteers.

The group provides important feedback from members aged up to 25 years.

2013 Youth Week - Young Members

The NSW RFS has thousands of young members

More than 8,600 NSW RFS members are under the age of 25, with around a quarter of those young women.

They're in a range of roles from firefighters and cadet members to communications, logistics and catering.

To all of our young members – a huge thank you for your work in communities all over NSW every day.
