Summary
The NSW Rural Fire Service (NSW RFS) Mid Murray Zone will today applaud the achievements of dedicated volunteers from the Deniliquin Brigade with the presentation of long service medals and clasps in honour of long service, appreciation and dedication.
Seven Long Service Medals and or Clasps will be presented to volunteers.
NSW RFS South Western Area Manager Community Risk, Superintendent David Jones, will join guests at the Deniliquin Brigade station to mark the occasion.
Superintendent Jones said Long Service Medal recipients had together given a total of more than 120 years of service to the community.
“The members being recognised today with long service medals and or clasps range from 10 to 24 years,” Superintendent Jones said.
“While all are congratulated, special mention is given to Wayne Fitzpatrick and Julian Bassett on their respective 24 and 22 years of service.
“I would like to take this time to praise all our volunteers for their ongoing efforts each and every day, particularly when dealing with emergencies here in the Mid Murray Zone.
“We also thank the family, friends, employers and colleagues of all NSW RFS volunteers. We know it takes their ongoing support and patience to assist and enable our volunteers to do what they do to save lives and property.”
