Eulimore Rural Fire Brigade celebrates new station openin

Summary

NSW Rural Fire Service (NSW RFS) Assistant Commissioner Dominic Lane has congratulated members of Eulimore Rural Fire Brigade on the completion of their new station.

At the official opening, Assistant Commissioner Lane said that the station is a valuable resource for the local community and a tremendous boost for its volunteer firefighters.

"This is the first dedicated fire station for members of the Eulimore Rural Fire Brigade and the development of this new resource will provide these volunteers with an important base.

"The facility has room for the crews' trucks and an additional area that will be used for brigade meetings and training days," Assistant Commissioner Lane said.

"The entire community will benefit from the development of this new station, including the surrounding brigades of Mt. Pleasant, Murga and Eugowra who will be able to use the facility for joint local training.

"This station goes a long way in demonstrating the ongoing support from communities in the broader Canobolas area for the local NSW RFS brigades and their members.

"I have no doubt the new facility will build on the brigade's commitment to protecting their local community from a broad range of emergencies including bush, grass, car and house fires," said Assistant Commissioner Lane.

The new station has been built on land that has been leased for the next 30 years from the Eulimore Brigade's captain.

"I would like to sincerely thank the Eulimore Brigade's captain, Mr Max Gransden for making his land available for the this important rural fire station. His dedication to both his brigade and the local community should be commended.

"The new station has been custom designed so that it can be dismantled and moved at some point in the future if circumstances change and the station needs to be relocated," concluded Assistant Commissioner Lane.
