The NSW Rural Fire Service, together with the NSW Police Force, released investigation findings for the four fires in Sydney's west on Tuesday 10 September 2013.
Grange Ave Fire (Marsden Park) - arson
NSW Police Force
is investigating.
Richmond Road Grass Fire (Windsor Downs) -
powerlines
Strong winds and tree branches downed powerlines,
igniting nearby grass.
Hawkesbury Road Fire (Winmalee) - escaped hazard
reduction
On Saturday 7 September a NPWS hazard reduction commenced.
The fire was monitored and patrolled and on Tuesday 10 September the fire
breached containment lines under stronger than predicted winds.
Tickner Road Castlereagh Fire (Londonderry) - undetermined
