Initial assessment of Carwoola fire affected area

The NSW Rural Fire Service (NSW RFS) has completed the first stage of property assessments following the grass fire at Carwoola near Queanbeyan.
At this stage, the NSW RFS can confirm the following:
- 8 homes destroyed
- 6 homes damaged
- 23 outbuildings destroyed, 24 damaged
A further 56 homes have been protected and saved by firefighters and the community.
Approximately 85 percent of the fireground has been assessed. A final update will be issued when the assessment is complete.
