Published Date: 17 Sep 2013
The NSW Rural Fire Service has released the results of preliminary investigations into two recent fires.
The cause of the fire at Forestville on Saturday 7 September is currently undetermined. Investigations into this fire are continuing. The fire on the M1 Motorway (F3) at Morisset on Thursday 12 September has been found to be the result of embers from a hazard reduction activity breaching containment lines. The hazard reduction was under the management of the NSW RFS. The circumstances leading up to the hazard reduction breaching containment lines remain under investigation. Both fires were contained by firefighters and did not cause any damage to properties. The NSW RFS apologises for any inconvenience caused by these incidents.
