Volunteer Memorial 2020
On the second Sunday in October each year, we pause to remember the emergency service volunteers who have paid the ultimate sacrifice while working to protect others in the community.
The annual Emergency Service Volunteer Memorial is held in Sydney and holds the names of volunteers from the NSW Rural Fire Service, State Emergency Service, Volunteer Rescue Association, Marine Rescue and the predecessor organisations.
This year's event was held on Sunday 11 October 2020 at 11am. The names of eight NSW RFS volunteers were added to the memorial.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, attendance to the memorial service was strictly limited. We worked to prioritise the families of those members whose names have been added to the memorial this year.
We invite you to mark the occasion by watching the playback of the livestream of the event here.
