State Media Assistant

Role Description

Scope

The State Media Assistant is responsible for providing support to the State Media Supervisor.

Fundamental Protocols underpin the actions of all RFS members and must be adhered to at all times. They outline the Principles of being an RFS member and provide guidance on conduct to support the safety and wellbeing of members.

Key Accountabilities

  • Assists with incoming media enquiries and the State Public Information Unit (SPIU).
  • Supports the allocation of media interviews and enquiries to State Media Officers, spokespersons or members of the Executive.
  • Monitors the media for issues arising that concern the RFS.
  • Ensures media viewing rooms and the media briefing room are operational.
  • Assists with RFS media equipment technical issues.

Special Considerations

  • The State Media Assistant is activated by the State Public Information Coordinator (SPIC) and reports to the State Media Supervisor.
  • At all times the State Media Assistant shall maintain a log and ensure the timely inclusion of information into ICON.
