Training Team and Community Engagement Team
Published Date: 01 Sep 2013
Do you have an interest in training your fellow firefighters, deciding what training happens and where; or would you like to get involved in school visits and educating your community to be better prepared for the fire season?
We are currently seeking expressions of interest from our volunteer members in forming support teams to assist with our activities throughout the Northwest Zone ...and Bogan District, with specific regard to Community Engagement and Training.
Some activities you might undertake as part of these teams involve:
- Community Engagement Team: assist with community engagement activities such as school visits, property inspections and community presentations.
- Training Team: assisting with or facilitating training courses, canvassing for potential new members of the team, attending training forums, completing Instructor and Assessor qualifications, contributing to the annual training plan.
These teams will significantly enhance the capability of the North West Zone & Bogan District and we're after anyone, whether you can give a little or a lot, to help in getting this initiative up off the ground!
For more information please contact 6822 4422 and ask for Angus (for Community Engagement) or Jillian (for Training).
An information/introductory session will be held for volunteers wishing to be involved on Saturday August 10th with light refreshments provided at the Coonamble Fire Control Centre at 10am.
Those that cannot attend this session are still welcome to get involved!
