An excellent pathway to a career with the RFS is to join the service through volunteering at your local Rural Fire Brigade. Many of our volunteer members are given the opportunity to undertake the necessary training and qualifications to allow them to obtain paid employment with the RFS, and many staff members continue to retain their volunteer membership and support their local brigade.
