Careflight Medisim Trauma Workshop Broken Hill

Careflight Medisim Trauma Workshop Broken Hill

Summary

On Saturday 7th September volunteers from the Far West Team NSW Rural Fire Service Brigades and Far West Region NSW State Emergency Service Units, came together to learn and enhance skills and knowledge in emergency trauma management.

CAREFLIGHT provided a unique opportunity to play with their simulators and learn from expert trainers.

CAREFLIGHT trainers brought along their MEDISIM training and simulation resources to provide a fantastic opportunity for the volunteers to learn, understand and pick up the skills to assist injured patients in various state of trauma, that they may come across in the conduct of their emergency response activities and every day life.

It was a fantastic opportunity for the volunteers to learn and play in skills they may never have had the chance to do before.

The trainers from CAREFLIGHT provided a great platform for everyone to learn from, by listening to experiences and experts talk about what they do every day.

RFS volunteers came from Silverton, Menindee Headquarters, White Cliffs and Ivanhoe Brigades. The SES volunteers that attended were from Units in and around the Broken Hill area.

It was an awesome sight to see the Yellow and Orange working as one. Fantastic work guys....well done!!!

On a side note - during the afternoon training activities the Silverton Brigade members were responded to assist FRNSW at a house fire in Broken Hill, just behind the training venue.

No rest for the wicked.....then back to the trauma workshop. Didn't miss a beat...!!! All in a days work.
