Social Media Community Guidelines

The purpose of NSW RFS social media pages is to keep you up-to-date with NSW RFS related activities and events, and to share fire-related information.

Our social media pages are managed by the NSW RFS communications team. We’ll do our best to respond to you within 1-3 business days. Please note that replies may be delayed during periods of significant fire activity.

COMMUNITY GUIDELINES

We welcome expressions of opinion on our social media pages but we do ask that your comments stay on topic and are respectful to others and their opinions.

We may edit or delete comments that moderators consider to be:

• Abusive, offensive or unlawful - harassment or provoking other community members, swearing, derogatory language and expression of views that are racist, sexist, homophobic or sexually explicit are not acceptable, including in languages other than English.
• Defamatory comments or posts that violate laws regarding privacy will be removed.
• Personal attacks against other users, members of the public or NSW RFS members.
• An infringement of intellectual property rights - respect and acknowledge original creators when sharing content.
• Spam - we do not accept advertisements or requests to endorse commercial products or services.
• Personal details - this page is a public page and we will remove any comments including your private information or personal details such as email address or phone number. If we ask for any contact details, please provide this via direct message.
• A violation of the Terms & Conditions of the relevant social media platform.

We may restrict you from engaging on our page if you breach any of these guidelines.
