Congratulations to the NSW RFS recipients of the Australian Fire Service Medal, announced on the Queens Birthday 2015.

Today marks the beginning of National Volunteer Week and as one of Australia's leading volunteer organisations, we want to acknowledge the contribution of our 73,746 volunteer members.The volunteering efforts of our members make a big difference to the community and we say thank you.

Two hundred NSW Rural Fire Service (NSW RFS) volunteers and staff will discuss and exchange ideas about leadership at the 2015 Leadership Forum which begins today at Dubbo.

At the Awards Ceremony on 4 May 2015, 21 individual and seven group recipients are to be acknowledged by the Commissioner. Drawn from the Service's Regions and Headquarters these recipients are presented with Awards in recognition of outstanding bravery or service. The fourth of May is chosen each year for the Awards Ceremony as it is the Feast Day of St Florian, Patron Saint of Firefighters and International Firefighters' Day.
